Claire's "Best of" List- Best AI tools for Personal Branding and Career Development

In my consulting work, one of the most common questions I encounter is about the AI tools I regularly use and recommend for my clients. As the field of AI continues to evolve at a rapid pace, it's crucial to stay updated on the latest tools and advancements. Pricing models are also shifting dynamically, as discussed in my recent blog post,  the Best Things in AI are free (or are they?). Check it out for more on that.

Last week I kicked off a blog series where I'll be sharing my top AI tools tailored specifically for the higher education sector. These tools span various categories, including writing and research, personal branding and career development, creativity, and productivity. Last post I focused on AI Productivity Tools, and before that I focused on AI Writing and Research Tools.

But I'm not just here to share my insights—I'm eager to hear from you, too! What AI tools are you currently embracing in your personal and professional endeavors? Your input could spark valuable discussions and insights for our community.

Without further ado, let's dive into the third installment of this series: the best AI tools for Personal Branding and Career Development.

The headshots that I use on my website and all of my social media accounts were created using AI. I wrote a blog about the experience last spring. The Washington Post also did a great article debating the use of AI-generated headshots and testing out the most popular AI headshot generators. See some of my sample headshots below. Are you on board with AI generated headshots? This is a source of great debate in our household!

I used Fiverr's embedded AI logo creator for my company's logo. I first worked directly with a Fiverr graphic artist to create our logo (approx. cost $300), but wasnt able to produce an end product that we loved. I later used the new Fiverr AI logo tool and loved the end product with a much lower pricepoint ($70). The Fiverr AI logo tool is still powered by Fiverr Graphic Artists, but allows users to customize existing logo creations to their needs, color palette, company name etc... Learn more about how these artists are selected and compensated here.

I also regularly use ChatGPT and Google Gemini for resume and cover letter editing. I especially like to use it to help me craft Executive Profiles from a resume or job posting. I recently used several different AI tools to develop behavioral interview questions using a sample executive job posting. I'm working on some future blogs about using AI tools to create executive application materials, so stay tuned!

So let's dig into 10 AI tools that I recommend for Personal Branding and Career Development. The graphic below lets you know if the tool is free, paid, or a combination of free/paid options and a short description of the tool.

Please note: I want to emphasize that I do not have any financial partnerships or affiliations with the companies or tools mentioned in this series, ensuring that my recommendations remain unbiased and focused solely on their value and effectiveness.

My next (& last) post in this series will focus on Creativity AI tools- coming this Thursday.
