In April, I had the pleasure of visiting D'Youville University to speak at their annual "Unpacking" event. This year's theme focused on Artificial Intelligence (AI). My presentation explored emerging best practices in AI literacy, the importance of ethical AI use, and the growing impact of AI on the healthcare industry.

The audience included students, faculty, staff, and university leadership. The diverse student audience included a mix of health professions students, student athletes, and student leaders. Their enthusiasm and range of perspectives created a rich and engaging program. I was honored to be invited to this impactful event that fosters dialogue on critical issues.

While on campus, I met Humberto Hernandez and Susan Arnold, who invited me to join their DYU podcast, "AI in Higher Education." We had a stimulating conversation a few weeks ago, exploring the transformative potential of AI in education. Humberto and Susan, thank you for your expertise and dedication to leading AI integration efforts at DYU.

Here’s what we covered:

Expanding Horizons: We delved into the vast opportunities AI presents in enhancing educational experiences and outcomes.

Empowering Educators: We discussed how faculty and academic leaders can leverage AI tools to enrich teaching and learning.

Learning from Healthcare pioneers: Insights from AI's integration in healthcare and how those lessons can benefit higher education.

Boosting Student Success: Strategies on using AI to increase student retention and impact student success.
