In Higher Education, Artificial Intelligence (AI) could emerge as a beacon of transformation. Representing half of my consulting endeavors, AI's integration into Higher Education signals a profound shift towards enhanced student experiences, streamlined operations, equitable access, and improved student outcomes. However, pioneering this journey often feels like navigating uncharted waters—exciting yet solitary (I'm so lonely!)
The increasing curiosity among my peers in #highered regarding the potential of AI is both thrilling and validating. As we stand on the brink of seismic changes, the responsibility to guide our institutions through this paradigm shift is both an honor and a formidable challenge.
My Role Empowering Leaders and Innovators
In response to the growing demand for expertise, my consultations have crystallized into four core areas of AI-related training and professional development:
General AI Overview: Equipping Student Affairs professionals with the knowledge to leverage AI tools for both personal enhancement and professional efficiency, learning about use-cases, and exploring GenAI tools.
Strategic Planning for Student Affairs Leadership: This specialized training is designed for leadership teams eager to incorporate AI into student services, fostering a discussion on emerging best practices and adoption strategies.
Focused Excellence: Tailored sessions for specific areas within Student Affairs such as Career Services, Academic Advising, and Accessibility Services—highlight how AI can address unique challenges and opportunities.
Institutional Strategy Sessions: Working closely with Presidents, VPs, and Cabinets, we delve into AI's implications from a governance and institutional perspective, ensuring a holistic and forward-thinking approach.
While my focus has predominantly been on administrative and student affairs sectors, the academic side is equally critical. Recognizing the wealth of expertise in K-20 education, I collaborate with and recommend training specialists who provide in-depth faculty-centered training, ensuring a comprehensive and tailored AI integration across all academic disciplines.
